LOVE/SICK
By John Cariani

Can't buy me love

March 2019

Production Photos
Nine vignettes of loves lost, found, and most often lost again take place in a nameless Super Center, resonating as much fact as fiction. Who has not witnessed or heard of a Walmart aisle wedding or holding hands among the housewares? Cariani’s popular play Almost, Maine could take place in any of the fifty states – and the same can be said about the universality of his depictions of love in all the right – or wrong – places. Enjoy this darkly but decidedly funny take on romance.

HARRIET THE SPY
By Louise Brody
From the Novel by Louise Fitzhugh
Truth-telling, tattling, or tag

March 2019

Production Photos
Stealthy, silent, observant, and tenacious, 11-year-old Harriet is a privileged only child with time and a notebook in her hands. Ole Golly, her nursemaid, marries and moves away…Harriet’s notebook lands in the hands of classmates, and the mean and carefully kept comments come back to bite the once invisible spy. More than 50 years ago, the book presented a challenge to teachers and libraries and parents with Harriet’s headstrong example. Contrast that in our world of posts and tweets gone viral, and discover that Harriet the Spy offers a bold voice and some unapologetic truth.

THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW
By John Heimbuch & Jon Ferguson
From the Short Story by Washington Irving
Sleepy yet spirited, haunting and haunted

October 2019

Production Photos
To neighboring villages, the secluded glen known as Sleepy Hollow is just that -- a lovely, dreamy, bucolic home to congenial people. The residents know it to be bewitched. And when Connecticut schoolmaster Ichabod Crane arrives, terror sets in as he navigates the neighborhood, romances the Mayor’s daughter, and eventually comes head to shoulders with the Headless Horseman. Tempered by a bit of humor as Ichabod vies with village swain Brom for the fair Katrina, expect a creeping sense of Halloween-appropriate horrors to strew his path.

URINETOWN
Music by Mark Hollmann
Book by Greg Kotis
Lyrics by Mark Hollmann & Greg Kotis

Water comes out of the closet

December 2019

Production Photos
Satire saturates this Tony-winning, critically acclaimed musical that spills over into capitalism, politics, corporate shenanigans, legalism, socialism, and the brave new world of rationing water resources. In particular, as one song offers, “it’s a privilege to pee.” Adventurous and romantic rebels are at the ready to stand for justice and defeat the treacherous Urine Good Company once and for all. You’re in good company with countless audiences who have laughed and applauded the antics – and the victors.
