"Ticket sales only cover a portion of our expenses..."
Dear Friends,
You may have heard us say this before a performance or read it in a letter or email: "Ticket sales only cover a portion of our expenses." We keep repeating it because it is one of the basic truths of operating a non-profit arts organization: ticket sales only get us part way there. In order to sustain the organization and continue to inspire, engage, and entertain the people of the Lakes Region and beyond, we rely on members of our community-- on YOU-- for support.
For more than 20 years, the Winnipesaukee Playhouse has been producing professional, educational, and community theatre that makes us laugh one moment, challenges us the next, and ultimately tries to help us navigate the complicated and beautiful experience of being human. For me, theatre tends to be what I need it to be when I need it. If I need to soothed, theatre can do that. If I need to be shaken up and challenged, theatre can do that.
The Winnipesaukee Playhouse also provides a place for members of the community to come together, as members of an audience at a production by the Professional Company and/or as participants in programming by the Education Department and Winni Players Community Theatre. Fewer and fewer things these days invite us to detach from our screens and sit with our friends, family, and neighbors to breathe the same air as the artists bringing a play to life mere feet away.
Please consider supporting the work that we do at the Winnipesaukee Playhouse and help ensure the next 20 years and beyond!
Thank you in advance!
