This fiendishly funny and anachronistically contemporary play is a mature and inventive retelling of a Jacobean drama. The arrival of Scratch, the literal devil, tempts the residents of Edmonton to confront – and perhaps indulge – their darkest wishes… in exchange for their souls. Elizabeth should be his easiest target, having been labeled a “witch” and cast out by the town, but her soul is not so readily bought. Has the devil met his match? |
