Calendar Girls by Juliette Towhidi and Tim Firth Women will be girls. Calendar pin-up-style girls. All for a good cause, of course: their calendar is meant to raise money for leukemia research. But the process bares more than their au naturel selves, and they soon discover wherein beauty really lies. Gentle humor grows out of their girlish enthusiasm, and their strength as women is ultimately due to recognizing how large a bouquet of blessings can come from one small act of kindness. |
