The Winni Players Community Theatre Presents
Two Radio Plays
Sorry Wrong Number and The Hitchhiker
by Lucille Fletcher
Fletcher’s fiction was popular fodder for episodic radio and easily translated to early television and film. Sorry Wrong Number delivers a damsel in distress, and rightly so, when a neurotic invalid overhears a plotted murder via a misdialed phone call and can’t find anyone to take the threat seriously. Fletcher also gave voice to The Hitch-Hiker, written for Orson Welles and the Mercury Theatre on the Air. The two classic suspense tales are told in the style for which they were written, and audiences will get to see radio plays in action, and follow the suspense to each story’s end.
