2021 is the Summer of...
|
Please note: 2020 has been a year of adaptation and flexibility. In that spirit, it's important to note that we do not yet know what, if any, COVID-19 protocols will still be necessary by July of 2021. Anyone registering for a summer program should assume that the program will include some amount of mask wearing, social distancing, health screenings, temperature checks, and all of the other things we have all come to associate with safer behaviors designed to slow the spread of the pandemic. We will announce those details as they become available and with plenty of notice before programming begins.

More About Themes for 2021
Each week has a slightly different focus. Join us for a single session or an entire summer of fun!
From the Past (July 5 – 9)
Students delve into moments from history during this week: Da Vinci finishes the Mona Lisa, The Beatles play The Ed Sullivan Show, dinosaurs disappear from the Earth, Marie Curie wins the Nobel Prize… you never know who might show up!
Up and Away (July 12 – 16)
From hot air balloons and tightrope performers to the first airplanes and the Space Race, this week of camp will have students playing games, making art, and exploring high-flying moments of all kinds!
Off the Grid (July 19 – 23)
Whether it’s descending to the deepest parts of the ocean, a visit with Nessie or Bigfoot, or sunset in the Sahara Desert… the activities at camp this week are all about moments that are a little “out there!”
On the Edge (July 26 – 30)
This week, students investigate moments that explode limitations! They’ll consider inventions from the wheel to the computer, discoveries from fire to black holes, forms of storytelling from cave paintings to Broadway musicals, and more!
Behind the Story (August 2 – 6)
Did early humans REALLY live in caves? How did Helen Keller REALLY learn to communicate? Was the Big Bad Wolf REALLY that bad? This week, students investigate, discover, and invent the story behind the story!
Into the Future (August 9 – 13)
What will the future hold? Someone may be the first to travel at light speed or through time. Someone may create robots that can feel emotions. Someone definitely will draw, paint, sculpt, sing, dance and act in ways nobody today can imagine. Students in this week of camp will ask the question, “what if it’s me?”
