The Winnipesaukee Playhouse Education Department's
for high school students and 2017 graduates
"What is AppCo?"
This immersive and fully customizable summer experience, for students entering grades 9-12 and 2017 high school graduates, is not limited to the traditional 9:00-4:00 of the Winnipesaukee Playhouse camp program. It happens on both the Playhouse’s main Meredith Campus and the grounds of New Hampton School. It offers company members the chance to interact with the working theatre professionals in residence at the Playhouse, observe rehearsals and performances, and produce their own shows.
Company members may apprentice in departments of interest at the Winnipesaukee Playhouse, a working professional theatre. They may also assist master teachers in summer camps, have unprecedented access to Playhouse rehearsals and staff, take field trips, participate in workshops, get free tickets to shows, make connections with industry professionals and life-long friends!
Apprentice Company members may have the opportunity to be on running crews or even fill small roles in Winnipesaukee Playhouse professional productions. The AppCo will also rehearse and perform two productions of their own aimed at children to be performed on the Winnipesaukee Playhouse Stage!
Auditions and Interviews 2017!
Auditions (for the two shows) and interviews (for camp and production apprenticeships) will be held at the Winnipesaukee Playhouse at a day and time to be announced soon!
How to prepare for your audition: please prepare a 1-3 minute monologue. You may also be asked to do a little “cold” reading of texts provided at the audition. Come with a resume and headshot (if you have them). Make sure you have your summer calendar with you, as we will need you to confirm your availability.
How to prepare for your interview: bring a resume (if you have one.) If you have a particular interest or experience in a production area, we would love to hear about that—bring photos if you have them! Be ready to talk about any experiences you have had working with children. Make sure you have your summer calendar with you, as we will need you to confirm your availability.
